Red Skull Records was born from a simple need, a record store closer to home.
Since the closure of HMV in 2013, Tamworth has been without a music store of any kind. So in early 2016 I started buying up as many records as i could. With spiraling town centre rent costs, Mrs Red Skull and I decided the best course of action was to build our own store on land belonging to family. And so was born a unique and quirky store, catering to the vinyl lover.
They are Tamworth’s one and only record store! Not only that, they are (unofficially) the UK’s 4th smallest record store. Filled with pre-loved vinyl records and also a selection of CD’s and cassettes. All at great prices. They also sell many music related gifts, such as record bowls and framed artwork.
Customer reviews of Red Skull Records
Visited today for the first time. Friendly place with some great vinyl to choose from. Picked up my fave album and original 1977 press for a bargain price. I think I’ll be going there quite a lot to help build my collection.
A cracking store, a pleasure to browse and very reasonable prices. Visited for the first time today and I’ll definitely be returning. There’s something for everyone there. Support your local independent record stores!
Great shop. Plenty of choice. Picked up some cds to drag back to Northern Ireland with me. Cheers.
Incredible hidden treasure, one of the Midlands’ best!
Great to have a treasure trove of vinyl in Tamworth, spent quite a few quid on my first visit and I only got to ‘Q’! Their collection is very well organised so if you’ve got an artist in mind you can find them immediately. Looking forward to continuing my browse from Q-Z. Oh and they take credit cards if you decide to go crazy!
