Who are Action Records? Action Records has been established since 1979, starting off on a stall in Blackpool just as the independent music scene was emerging. From there we soon opened a site in Preston, where we have been ever since. We are members of all specialist independent chains; therefore we are offered all limited editions and special offers including quantity on all Record Store Day releases. We have always been at the forefront of music trends throughout the years, and we’ve also established our own record label, releasing records by bands such as The Boo Radleys, Dandelion Adventure, Big Red Bus, Genocides, Tompaulin, Fi-Lo Radio, Monkey Steals The Drum amongst others. Our biggest project so far has been with The Fall and Mark E Smith as a solo performer. The shop is open 9.00am till 5.30pm Mon-Sat. We have a fax line and on-line service which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unlike most mail order advertisers, visitors to our shop are always welcome. If you need to contact us you can: Phone us on 01772 884772 Fax us on 01772 252255 Email us at sales@actionrecords.co.uk Visit/write to us at Action Records. 46 Church Street, […]

The Only Record Shop In The Village The Vinyl Revival Store is “the only record shop in the village” (as far I know it’s the only record shop in any village in the UK). It’s also the only record shop in the historic county of Huntingdonshire, and one of the smallest record shops in the UK. How to find the shop The shop is in the village of Buckden, conveniently located just off the A1 midway between St. Neots and Huntingdon . It’s easy and free to park if you come by car, and the 66 bus from St Neots or Huntingdon stops just around the corner. Don’t go looking for a shopfront because there isn’t one, the shop is in a barn next to my house in Church Street, just behind the Lion Hotel. The gate is usually open, but please ring the bell as I may be in the house or the garden. New Vinyl Records I stock a limited range of new records – mainly limited editions and reissues. If it’s not in stock I can order most records from record companies and distributors. Secondhand Vinyl Records 000’s of LPs and 45s in stock. Some will be of interest to serious […]

Elephant Independent Record Shop Elephant Independent Record Shop is an independent Record Shop Stocking the best in new, independent and interesting music from around the world. Here’s what customers say: All recent purchases and every one a real treat. Could spend hours & a fortune in Elephant Independent Record Shop! Went here today for the first time after reading about it online. It’s a fresh and welcoming space with a much wider selection than I expected. I picked up a recent folk record I’ve been after for less than it costs on amazon but I could have spent a ton. Hidden away in Kings Walk, Winchester. What a great little shop, and well worth finding. Alex was very helpful. I’d certainly recommend this place and will definitely be going back. Great store and great selection. Lovely to see someone doing what that they love for a job. Highly recommended Great vibe, Lovely chap, I highly recommend!

Mr Bongo Records Brighton started life in 1989 as a small record shop underneath Daddy Kool’s Reggae Store on Berwick Street in London. We were the first shop to sell vinyl releases from independent hip hop labels such as Def Jam, Rawkus, Nervous and Big Beat outside of the USA. We also became an established bearer for hard-to-find, classic Latin music, particularly Brazilian, outside of the Americas. Over the following years Bongo moved three times within Soho and opened in Shibuya, Japan. They moved our offices to Brighton in 1999 and closed all shops in 2003. 25 years on they now have a recording roster featuring some of the best Brazilian, Latin, reggae, African and Jazz music by artists including Terry Callier, Jorge Ben, Joyce, Seu Jorge, Prince Fatty, Incredible Bongo Band and Marcos Valle. In 2004 they moved into world cinema, a venture that has grown to compliment the music. In keeping with the record label philosophy, they carefully select and source films from around the world and our catalogue now includes works by esteemed directors including Scorsese, Coppola, Has, Bertolucci, Rocha and Dovzhenko amongst others. They aim to unearth iconic, stylish, hard-to-find gems and cult classics and make […]
