Who are Action Records? Action Records has been established since 1979, starting off on a stall in Blackpool just as the independent music scene was emerging. From there we soon opened a site in Preston, where we have been ever since. We are members of all specialist independent chains; therefore we are offered all limited editions and special offers including quantity on all Record Store Day releases. We have always been at the forefront of music trends throughout the years, and we’ve also established our own record label, releasing records by bands such as The Boo Radleys, Dandelion Adventure, Big Red Bus, Genocides, Tompaulin, Fi-Lo Radio, Monkey Steals The Drum amongst others. Our biggest project so far has been with The Fall and Mark E Smith as a solo performer. The shop is open 9.00am till 5.30pm Mon-Sat. We have a fax line and on-line service which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unlike most mail order advertisers, visitors to our shop are always welcome. If you need to contact us you can: Phone us on 01772 884772 Fax us on 01772 252255 Email us at sales@actionrecords.co.uk Visit/write to us at Action Records. 46 Church Street, […]

Most impressed by the selection of reissue garage punk 45’s, this was something I’ve never seen back in San Francisco. I bought home a fair amount of these. Talked with Martin, one of the owners who was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I now recommend this place to all everyone I know. Welcome to Mod Lang records. I am a one man business. If you are coming any distance please contact me by phone 07925 419465 or email modlanguk@gmail.com to make sure I am available when you wish to visit. Normally I am open 6 days a week: Monday – Saturday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm Closed on Sundays but I am happy to see customers by appointment depending on my schedule. Please phone 07925 419465 to check. I am always interested in buying suitable material – from individual LPs to large collections. However, if you have items that you wish to sell and are travelling some distance, please get in touch beforehand so that we can discuss the possibilities. My requirements are fairly selective and I would not want anyone to be disappointed having come a long way only to find that I am not interested in buying their LPs or CDs. I have been dealing in rare records and music memorabilia for over 30 years. I moved to Berkeley, California in 1981 after working for Virgin retail in the UK. While in California I sold at record fairs and in Goldmine magazine during the 80’s. Eventually this led to the […]
