The Only Record Shop In The Village The Vinyl Revival Store is “the only record shop in the village” (as far I know it’s the only record shop in any village in the UK). It’s also the only record shop in the historic county of Huntingdonshire, and one of the smallest record shops in the UK. How to find the shop The shop is in the village of Buckden, conveniently located just off the A1 midway between St. Neots and Huntingdon . It’s easy and free to park if you come by car, and the 66 bus from St Neots or Huntingdon stops just around the corner. Don’t go looking for a shopfront because there isn’t one, the shop is in a barn next to my house in Church Street, just behind the Lion Hotel. The gate is usually open, but please ring the bell as I may be in the house or the garden. New Vinyl Records I stock a limited range of new records – mainly limited editions and reissues. If it’s not in stock I can order most records from record companies and distributors. Secondhand Vinyl Records 000’s of LPs and 45s in stock. Some will be of interest to serious […]

The great jazz musician Duke Ellington was once quizzed about the best kinds of music; his response: “There’s only two kinds” – good and bad. That’s my take on music too – my tasted are highly eclectic and that’s reflected in what I offer for sale at Wood Street Indoor Market. My name’s Mike, I’ve lived many years in Walthamstow and now run one of the record shops at the market, and what distinguishes my shop is that besides second-hand and new vinyl records, CDs and music-related books and DVDs, I also sell oil paintings of iconic musicians by local artist Ruth Lukom. These are displayed on the walls of my unit and some examples are on this webpage. My background is as a journalist including music articles and in 2010 I published a book on jazz. And for three and a half years I presented a show on UK Jazz Radio and Europe Jazz Radio-UK. And having spent a lifetime building up my own cherished collection of records, trading vinyl seems the most natural step to take. I love talking about music with visitors to my shop, learning how it touches their lives and about fascinating music I didn’t […]
