Deal Real was a renowned hip hop specialist record shop, located at 3 Marlborough Court. Moving from its Noel St. location in Soho, the Carnaby store was opened under new management in 2002 by university friends and family who came together through a mutual love of hip hop culture. The shop ethos centred on promoting the diverse range of UK and US hip hop culture, with a particular focus on emerging UK artists and genres that had very few other outlets. We even embraced early emerging genres like electronica, dubstep and grime. Deal Real was a hive of activity and its legendary Friday night open-mics, provided a platform for creative young people to come together, showcase their talents, share ideas and network with like minds. Young emerging talent of all description would meet, hone their skills and build positive links and futures. It was social networking before Twitter, with many young people arriving as curious music enthusiasts, but leaving as fans, collaborators and friends. Within 5 years of thriving in one of London’s iconic music and fashion districts, Deal Real became known as “London’s Hip Hop Mecca”.

The Only Record Shop In The Village The Vinyl Revival Store is “the only record shop in the village” (as far I know it’s the only record shop in any village in the UK). It’s also the only record shop in the historic county of Huntingdonshire, and one of the smallest record shops in the UK. How to find the shop The shop is in the village of Buckden, conveniently located just off the A1 midway between St. Neots and Huntingdon . It’s easy and free to park if you come by car, and the 66 bus from St Neots or Huntingdon stops just around the corner. Don’t go looking for a shopfront because there isn’t one, the shop is in a barn next to my house in Church Street, just behind the Lion Hotel. The gate is usually open, but please ring the bell as I may be in the house or the garden. New Vinyl Records I stock a limited range of new records – mainly limited editions and reissues. If it’s not in stock I can order most records from record companies and distributors. Secondhand Vinyl Records 000’s of LPs and 45s in stock. Some will be of interest to serious […]
