Record shop now open stocked with vinyl from all genres of music, but focusing on punk, mod, ska and indie, also selection of cds, dvds and memorabilia. Customer reviews of Sounds of the Suburbs Great shop & really friendly & knowledgable owner. Good selection of vinyl. Brilliant, friendly shop. A treasure trove! As record stores go this is one of the best I’ve experienced in a long time. The stock and quality are amazing and the owners not a bad bloke either – 5 stars amazing shop, stock and prices. Some stuff you can’t get anywhere else in the world Popped in to the shop today came away with 4 albums . Listening to return of the rude boy by Neville staples really enjoying it bought without having heard any of the music on it but it’s quality . And nice to have a little chat with the owner Tony who turned me on to a band called the witchdokters yet to play it but pretty certain I’ll like it after having heard some of it in the shop. Nice relaxed atmosphere in the shop a really good selection of different styles of music reasonable prices. My first but not […]

The Only Record Shop In The Village The Vinyl Revival Store is “the only record shop in the village” (as far I know it’s the only record shop in any village in the UK). It’s also the only record shop in the historic county of Huntingdonshire, and one of the smallest record shops in the UK. How to find the shop The shop is in the village of Buckden, conveniently located just off the A1 midway between St. Neots and Huntingdon . It’s easy and free to park if you come by car, and the 66 bus from St Neots or Huntingdon stops just around the corner. Don’t go looking for a shopfront because there isn’t one, the shop is in a barn next to my house in Church Street, just behind the Lion Hotel. The gate is usually open, but please ring the bell as I may be in the house or the garden. New Vinyl Records I stock a limited range of new records – mainly limited editions and reissues. If it’s not in stock I can order most records from record companies and distributors. Secondhand Vinyl Records 000’s of LPs and 45s in stock. Some will be of interest to serious […]

Vinylstore Jr record shop a small independent record shop in Canterbury. On Castle Street, 3 doors down from the Guitar Shop. They currently stock vinyl only as Vinyl is a “growth sector” as they say in business circles. They are currently sticking with vinyl because it sounds better, it looks better and it feels better but they may stock other formats in the future, including CD and even cassette. They stock new records only, not secondhand. Again, this isn’t an absolute position and that may change my mind in future. Mostly they will be selling what you might call indie and alternative. Their favourite bands include the aforementioned Sigur Ros and Radiohead, Mogwai, Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr. But they also love searching out obscure noisy or psychedelic sounds from Russia, Scandinavia, South America, wherever… They always have stuff from a variety of eras. But mostly, it will be about the new and exciting, with a focus on new releases, limited editions, coloured vinyl, “indies only” stuff (ie HMV won’t have it) box sets etc from new bands and old favourites alike. They will also have a whole chunk of live albums that you might not find elsewhere. […]
