A family run business which opened in 2016, owned by Father-Daughter duo, Vince and Tahlula.
The Record Store caters for all tastes- you can find a bit of everything from Jazz to Soul, and Electronic to punk. The largest selection available is of the Rock and Pop genre with both secondhand and new vinyl available. Tahlula and Vince are also at the heart of Ashford’s music scene, having last year arranged the biggest rock gig the town has seen for many years headlined by Saint Agnes and LiVES; the gig itself was well received and featured in Metal Planet magazine.
The Record store is Kent’s largest vinyl shop at just under 1800 square ft, they also stock memorabilia, hi-fi, band tees, cassettes, cds, posters and vintage apparel along with their biggest seller of course -Vinyl.
Customer reviews of The Record Store Ashford
Popped in and purchased 2 new records, the other was not in stock
Now received in the post, well packaged and very quick
Really impressed guys, keep it up
Vince and his team are fab, knowledgeable, friendly and i love their cup of tea and a biscuit…go for it guys!!!
Great shop, very helpful people with a real understanding of my devious plans to appear to be spending less on records
During my first real browsing session here, I found Vince and his team to be very knowledgeable and ready to advise or recommend music based on my rather broad tastes.
It was nice to be offered the opportunity to hear what I was looking to purchase, especially for the pre-owned vinyl.
I spent 4 hours in the store and never felt rushed or pressured into buying. After 3 months of lockdown, it was so nice to have the quiet/self time to browse, interspersed with music chats with the team.
They ask you to take a pair of disposable gloves that are located just inside the front door, if you are planning to have a rummage through their stock. Very wise in the current climate.
There is an online shop which may have a lot more stuff not on display, so I’ll be visiting that sometime soon.
If you’re a serious collector or just starting the vinyl journey, I would advise you to pay these a visit if you’re in and around Ashford.
Ashford’s finest new and used record store. We buy and sell vinyl records, memorabillia, posters and Cds.
