Unknown Pleasures records is a record shop at the bottom of the Royal Mile – which stocks rare and collectable second-hand vinyl, CDs, DVDs and other merchandise. Not much contemporary music, but always the chance of unearthing that much long sought musical gem with the very helpful staff. See what their customers say: Proper old-school record shop, a welcome oasis in a sea of tartan tourist tat. Some very rare vinyl on offer, which is reflected in the price. Good choice of tee-shirts as well. I bought a second hand copy of Simon Reynolds` “Retromania” for a fiver. Cherish this place. Great owner, great products !!!! don’t go anywhere else, Unknown Pleasure is THE shop you need !!! My favourite record shop in Edinburgh, the vast amount of rarer records found in this shop is amazing. Some vinyl I have never seen anywhere else. Great amount to choose from as well and it perfectly caters to my collection of records on the “factory” label. This shop shares a an online record shop with Kingbee records in Manchester.

Vinyl Villains record shop was established in 1983, is one of a small number of surviving old-school record shops. A combination of factors, including economic conditions and the increasing reliance on the internet for shopping, has killed off two-thirds of our independent record retailers. The continued survival of Vinyl Villains (although there have been a few close shaves!) is that there are still a huge number of like-minded people out there, with a discerning taste in music, who refuse to be brainwashed into accepting the regurgitated gunge that passes for culture today. Here are some reviews of Vinyl Villains record shop: Great wee shop, popped in for a wee nosey as was in Edinburgh and came away with 3 albums and 4 12″ singles. Also great prices, noticed they have some great t shirts. Well just visiting Edinburgh at the moment and enjoying it very much. But today I went into Vinyl Villains and got to say the choice is great so many awesome Lp’s just great stuff but it wasn’t just that tho the person who served can’t remember her name but she was great so friendly, helpfully and lovely to talk to especially about KISS who are my fav band […]

LP Records Glasgow is an independent Record Store in Glasgow’s West End trading in various genres of vinyl new and old. Some customer reviews: For sure one of the best record shops in Glasgow. Carrying a great range, forever find myself finding more records I want each visit to the shop. Great knowledgeable staff always up for a chat. Another brilliant trip to LP records. Lorenzo is a very knowledgable, passionate and brilliant guy. Some of the records I looked at were maybe a bit expensive but it’s a great place. Best record shop in Glasgow if not Scotland. Lorenzo is a passionate guy who knows his music and i always walk out with somthing I haven’t heard before on his recommedation. I’ve popped in numerous times and never left empty handed, great selection and great prices! Only heard about this place a few days ago, went in today for a “quick look” and I’m well over my lunch hour now, tons of great stuff, really friendly staff and I didn’t bring enough money to have bought as much as I’d have liked to. I’ll definitely be back. Popped in this evening. Only day one but already good selection of […]

In reality only somewhere that totally blew my mind would get 5 stars. I would say its more of a 4, its an awesome place, but not like a magical fantasia or anything ha ha. Em but on all seriousness, check it out. Where else can you go for a pint, a coffee and some totally obscure vinyl so you can show your mates how eclectic your music taste is? Also, imagine going on a date here, that would be nice, you can have an opportunity to judge your date on what kinda music […]
